The Art of Generative Conflict
How to meet yourself so you can be with others.
Join us for this practice space to deepen our relational skills during conflict. This is a 8-week series for Alumni of Healing Cycles of Harm cohorts and Anger Lab: Honoring the Embers.
Gabriel {G} Momah (they/them), Rosa Cabrera (she/her) and Dominique Cowling (she/her) will be holding this space (read bios).
We invite you to be seen and see others in our full humanity & courageous vulnerability. Our time will be dedicated to exploring with other participants how to communicate and address tensions in our group dynamic.
Exact location in Unceded Ohlone Territory, aka Oakland, will be shared upon acceptance into the series. We will be located near public transportation.

WHAT WE ARE EXPLORING
This is a space to explore how conflict is a site of personal and relational growth. We’ll examine what inner wisdoms or guides exist within us that can help us access discernment and make brave, values aligned choices during conflict. We’ll deepen our relationship with uncertainty and explore what it’s like to practice presence and navigate connection in emergent and creative contexts.
Some questions we’ll ask ourselves:
What are some of the stories we hold about conflict?
What truths are we protecting?
How do I know when I’m embodying authenticity?
What causes me to avoid or run?
How can conflict become an opportunity to meet myself and become - each time?
Our Modalities
We use a democratic, non-hierarchical model that acknowledges that everyone is the expert of their own growth journey.
Tools used throughout this series:
Group and pair practice and reflections
Embodiment and movement
Journaling
Nervous system support
This practice space is one where we interrogate the notion of striving for “perfection” in relationships. We believe that conflict is not inherently bad or wrong and has the potential to be generative towards healthier dynamics.
Confidentiality
This is a confidential and consensual group.
Participants are supported through risk-taking without disclosing the details of harm caused, witnessed, or survived.
Our facilitators are not mandated reporters.
Applications open until spaces are filled.
We keep our circles capped 12 to 18 participants.
